always poetry early in the morning. when it is raining and all i can think of is what it would be like to be that one red-leaved tree among all the other green ones.

This is some happy news to hear about the relationship between Christianity and the gay community in Chicago: open discourse!
Imma make sweet, sweet poetry tonight and into the wee hours. I looooove it.
i’m gonna getcha.
but i’m gonna put up a poem for my mummy, @vonnegutesque:
evening walks
In the nearly autumn wind
I smell leaves about to fall,
the scent of French fries –
grease, salt, hot water –
and the woman standing next to me
on the sidewalk. I am here
waiting to cross over
and continue my walk
through the outskirts of town.
The sidewalks are more cracked
this far out from downtown,
and I have to keep looking
down to keep steady.
I can hear kids talking
in the darkening alleyway
about that slut in algebra class
and that sick 5-0 grind he did.
I don’t know what that is,
and if I keep walking
I won’t find out
if that girl has sucked
any of their cocks.
It is a long walk,
a procession of a walk,
but this sweat is
what I need tonight.
Heel, toe, heel, toe.
Rhythmically charged
feet carry me farther and farther
as evening settles.
Maybe
that girl would have touched me
if I had been there –
a diversion from factorials
for just a few sensual minutes.
I breathe in through nose
and out through mouth,
feel lungs fill like sponges
in water and continue down
a side street
where there is light
making its final shadows,
amorphous, monolithic,
through draped windows and over
the steepled and flattened
tops of buildings.i’m pretty sure that this day is going to be great. why? because i said so. end of line.
digging in to one of my most recent purchases: SEAMUS HEANEY!
ahhhhhh, a;dsl;kajfds;lkjdsa;lkfj!
i need more discipline, friends. i need to start writing more poetry. or at least revising things. i also need to start seriously looking at/filling out applications for graduate school.
so, i think i’ll start a poem now.
