So, I’ve recently started listening to “Fresh Air”, an NPR broadcast weeknights at 10:30pm EST (at least that is the time that I start to listen to it since I get off of work at that time). Terry Gross hosts, and she has really interesting discussions with what the NPR website says are “luminaries.” Now, she had Seth Macfarlane on there a few nights ago, so I don’t know how illuminating he is (he’s hella funny), but maybe our lexicons are a bit different. Anyway, poet Marie Howe was on last night, and she read some amazing poems. You should check it out:
This is scary. But, surprisingly, not surprising. I think it’s all the media making me desensitized to certain forms of, let’s say, human tragedy.
So, usually I don’t have a problem with progress, but this story is a little provocative. I mean, really, babies and villages that don’t “officially exist”? Come on, humanity, let’s cut the bs.
Can’t let our German buddies get bogged down in this international debt crisis, too. NONONO! Someone somewhere has to be in the black please.
